The Axlerator covers African entertainment as an industry and a culture at the same time. Music, screen, live and the business decisions behind them are reported by people who are in the rooms where those decisions get made.

We are Nairobi-rooted and continent-facing. That means our default assumption is that African entertainment is worth serious, unflattering, well-sourced coverage rather than reprinted announcements.

We publish news, features, interviews, criticism, satire, photography and video. Every piece carries an author, a timestamp, and a label that tells you what kind of work you are reading.

The publication is supported by advertising, partnerships and Axlerator Studios, our commercial content arm. Commercial work is always labelled and never written by the newsroom.
